Hello there! I’m Ian, as you might have noticed. I am a married Computer
Engineer and Applied Mathematician from Ohio. I have a cat named Daenerys, and a Shiba
Inu named Kibo. In my free time, I like to dabble in machine learning, stretch my wings
in projects programmed in Python, and experiment with electronics and hardware. I also enjoy
model building, cooking, and playing cooperative video games.
I speak basic conversational Japanese, and am fluent in more than 5 programming languages
as well. I enjoy working with teams of people to create innovative solutions which incorporate
the latest technology with practical function and ease of use. In my work, I have created both
back end and customer facing products, which have helped bring companies to the cutting edge
of technology, improving their work lives and their reporting abilities. I am a self starter,
enjoy tackling unique projects which require creative solutions, and I am always looking for
opprotunities to grow.
I use my strengths to better others, and myself. I have worked hard to nurture my talents and continue to develop my own skills and expand my knowledge base.
Fluent in many languages, including Python, C/C++, and SQL. I also know HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP. I am constantly experimenting with new technologies and libraries to enhance personal projects and accelerate professional growth.
Graduated Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering with Cooperative Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics.
Whether for work or play, travel is constant in my life. There are so many cultures, cuisines, people in this big world of ours that I can't help but be excited to experience it all. In 2018, I traveled to England and France for vacation, a trip that left me wanting to explore more of Europe and Scandinavia. For work, I frequently travel to China, India, and Mexico. In the future, I hope to visit Japan for the 2020 Olympic Games.
I am a PC enthusiast. I always strive to learn more about the PC hardware space and keep up to date on the newest technologies. I eagerly consume information on the newest updates to architectures and products that are releasing. I use this knowledge to build my own PC and squeeze every ounce of performance I can from it.
I love using the hardware side of my education to create fun and exciting things. Past projects include helping my wife with cosplay effects and aesthetic and responsive lighting and automating a lighting array for my hydroponic peppers to ensure they get the optimal amount of light for growth.
PC, console, tabletop, board: I am a fan of just about every type of gaming there is. But most importantly of all, I love the community that gaming brings. Whether that is gathering around a table and taking my friends on a journey as their Dungeon Master or sitting on the Discord and laughing as we play League of Legends as a full team, I love every minute of being close to those I care about most in my favorite hobby.
The journey towards achieving my goals is full of strife and challenge. By overcoming these, I am able to grow into a stronger, more driven individiual. See below for all of my accrediations.
